Old business: planned Homecoming, prepared student directory, financed Holiday Dance, funded pop machine, trip to Park Center, State Convention in Marshall ... Interruption ... “Sergeant at Arms” Kleber subdues the offender. New business: multi-media, student exchange with Mounds View, buying popcorn machine for new gym, all-school picnic, gym dedication ... Mr. Allen, “The date set for completion is ... ” Parliamentarian Terry North, “Actually a 2 3 vote is needed.” Matt, “spice cake!” Tony, “May I have a motion to adjourn the meeting ... a second?” Council, “I second it ... Two out of the three editors were just juniors; we had an over one thousand dollar deficit to work around, we were forced to use a “pay in full” plan, and in addition, we had to break in two new “advisers!” Falling student enrollment and APATHY magnified the problems of rising production costs. An unusually ambitious staff set its sights high, counting on more color than last year and a more extravagant cover. We launched a high power advertising campaign selling ads around the neighborhood and books in the school. Both administration and students breathed a sigh of relief as the goal of selling 500 books was surmounted in the nick of time, and the Hesperian staff announced that there definitely would be a yearbook this year! Our expectations were doubtful at first, but in the end Westites came through and were Great. Hand It To The Hesperian Staff Albert Attempts to “crop” Kat permanently.
