How about a shine' On and around the night of November fourth many strange things started happening at West. First, early in the week gals started to literally chase guys. When the fellas were caught, everyone, including Daisy Mae, Mara Patten and Marryin Sam, Tony Leung, dressed up as hill billies and went to the dance. Pictures were taken in a wheelbarrow; couples got married in the biffy; gals had to pay a nickel and a kiss to get their fella out of jail. All of these crazy events made up what in many people’s opinion was one of the best Sadie Hawkins dances ever. “You’ve got ring around the collar' 22 Surpirse! Surprise!

Holiday Dance; Holly, High Spirits And The Hustle The band presented an ensemble performance. The last day before winter break was overflowing with holiday spirit, decorated lockers, and students thankful that December 22 was finally here. To break up the monotony of class parties and Kris Kringle strikes, West’s band played a festive auditorium concert. Westites rushed out of school at 2:00 carrying empty backpacks to prepare for the Holiday Dance. Student council sponsored the dance as usual but for the first time it was held out of school at the Golden Valley House. The band was “Airtight”, and West loved it! Decked in their holiday duds, students chatted, danced, swayed, and jived to start off their vacation in style. 24 Festive Leslie. Sue and Sue have obviously been hit by their Kris Kringles.
