Martin fools them again! MJtC z A Grand Day At a rousing pep fest the Freshmen proved “They have Finesse”, we were convinced “Juniors are Jocose” and we even believed “Sophomores Stars are Shining On”. Spirits soared high as Westites were raring to break, warp (or at least skip) the Tommies record. Even though it “rained on our parade”, and the royal game was postponed, the whopper-eating-contest brightened our day. The students proved to reign over the faculty as the burger-kings! At the dance “Cohesion” really pulled it all together. We looked impressive in our semi-formals as we boogied to our hearts content in the boys’ gym. On a beautiful, fall Monday at Parade Stadium fans and football players, cheerleaders and highsteppers all turned out to watch the West Cowboys meet the Edison Tommies. Along with the Highsteppers’ balloons, our school spirit was sky-high, but we soon learned that spirit wasn’t enough. And as a loyal Cowboy put it . we gave everything we had, we played a good game, it just wasn’t enough.” All in all, Homecoming didn’t go as expected, but it was GREAT. 20 Students dance to the music of Cohesion.

' « Sonia Col both represents summer with style. At the coronation grand expectations were felt by all although each student may have seen it in a little different light Freshman, sophomores, and juniors looked forward to the coming years as seniors gave a sigh of supremacy. Mr. Allen, in his homecoming hard hat, commenced the dazzling extravaganza. Back on the throne for the last time, Martha Schwob relived her Great Expectations of the past year with the other “All Star Alumni” present. True to Chris Lloyd’s prediction, Stephanie Johnson was proclaimed our regal queen representing “the last of the great class of ’78.” With the looks of spring, summer, fall, and winter at her side, our court really did look enchanting. 1977 Homecoming Court: C. Dull. K. Kleber, J. Nitche. A. Goldfarb, N. Overby. K. Knudson, A. Inveen, J. Bailly. A. French, T. Carney. M. Fontaine, S. Johnson, C. Galle.G. Fisker.T. Guthrie. B. Jackson, V. Nelson, A. Wyatt. A.
