Win A Little . . . Sno-Daze week was unique this year. On Monday we came and found Western demolished, our football field fenced off and no snow! On Friday, the Juniors produced a twenty minute auditorium where Paula Inveen and Pete Norton relinquished their crowns to Amy Smith and Steve Waalk. A few spirited Westites attempted to romp-in-the-snow but in the end had to admit there wasn’t any!! So they hurried to the lunchroom for some socializing and hot cocoa. Our dance was threatened by the energy shortage but in the end it happened- and with Junior style! The Big Snowball makes its entrance! The glare of anticipation! Pete and Paula still preside. The dynamic duo! Jon Poor Dances the night away!

A Year The 1976 through 1977 school year was a memorable one. It was the year of a presidential election and the end of our nation’s Bicentennial. We had an inhumanly cold winter and a fuel shortage at the same time. This meant lowered temperatures inside making it almost as bad as outside. For seniors the year meant filling out forms and watching your money disappear. Construction finally began on the new gym, and we were no longer allowed to roam the halls during classes. It was really a year to remember. Steve's sign reflects the views of many West students. Many people gathered in room 300 to watch the inauguration. 28
