It was the PLACE to be ... A Time We Had Voices screamed and pom poms waved as the spirited Westites cheered their team on. The noise, although deafening, seemed blissful as the school displayed its unity and vigor. The Cowboys fought hard and made a valiant effort. Although they lost, in the eyes of West fans they will always be winners. That evening the dance lured many, as the gym was packed with couples and stags. With a setting of Fall colors, it created a perfect mood which was to end the Autumn Adventure. 23

Oh Freshmen — pom poms — EGGING the opponents on? — What is a forest sprite? — Who cleaned up after the horses? — Albert's song over the P.A. — a day we don’t have enough of — Juniors Won! — SPIRIT!!! Get, ’Em Grab ’Em November 5, 1976 Sadie Hawkins brought the best of us hillbillies out of the barn and into the dogpatch as we toddled on down to the dance. Those dag nab sheriffs were everywhere trying to round up those guys and stick’em in the hoosegow so that their little sweethearts would have to smooch'em out. When we '‘escaped from the law. we slipped off to the biffy to tie the knot during a two, four, or six bit wedding. Then we left the shindig and dawdled on back to the barn. SURPRISE!!!SURPRISE!HSURPRISE!!!
