homecoming court — left to right: d. odland, d. story, m. kidd, g. williams, c. hanvik, p. klocksien, m. sweeney, n bc i ;on, c. nadeau, m. guthrie, m. oyaas, s. semmer, p. woodrich, m. culhane, s. lampson, s. davis, t. hobart, a. landberg, t. ht.mesy. the cream of our crop gradually, the auditorium crowd settled down, the lights dimmed and the curtains opened to reveal the magnificent stage, there was a certain awe about the auditorium as students, teachers, parents and alumni wondered who our new 1974 homecoming queen would be. slowly the radiant attendants and queen candidates were escorted down the aisle, even more slowly, the page followed carrying the ever important envelope, finally, as the tension reached it's peak, sue lampson was crowned queen to reign over all of the day's activities, as our new queen received kisses of congratulations from the football captains, she placed her john hancock on the homecoming proclamations, applause swept through the auditorium as our homecoming court descended the stage. within the quiet and peaceful surroundings of lake of the isles, the homecoming court is found take five! — after a hectic morning, the homecoming royalty relaxes in the home of mary baron. 16

fun and spirit filled our day la de da — our sophomores are the best — la de da — the very very best — la de da shout the sophomore cheerleaders, chris curry, joy carlson, and amy linner. simply great .. there was a lot of spirit in the air ... what a riot the parade was good the whole way through .. it was fun roller skating ... very rowdy, with typical high school spirit .. a lot of enthusiasm was shown . we should have gotten the whole school on it ... i wish that they'd widen the gates to get out of the field . i was so hot. i just about died in my uniform . just great . . many individual groups got involved ... it was fantastic ... the ambassador motel was just great . . oh, wow, the dance was a riot ... i wish i could've gone ... we had a fantastic evening ... the band, rue delight, was real good it should've been longer ... i had so much fun ... it was a great day, the entire day was just somethin' else spirit comes in different sizes, as shown by our youngest cheerleader, heather. a smile, blowing in the wind is thrown out by senior attendant, victoria benson. connie elliott and clint hoover proved as the west high rouser brought the whole auditorium to their feet, the homecoming that the alumni never lose the west court waited in anticipation for the fun filled day. spirit. 16
