Along with classroom instruction, these teachers also have been active in advising clubs and helping with school projects. Mrs. Warren has been an assistant to Miss Blessin's Creative Writing Club. Miss Watrud was the factulty adviser to the Times and directed the Senior Class Play. Co-odvising the Social Clubs was the job if Mrs. Prohofsky. Our librarian. Miss Thompson, organized the school's text book system. Their teaching and guidance encouraged us to extend our knowledge and develop our abilities. Mr. Morris Says Goodbye Mr. J. Morris, Principal I am taking this opportunity to say goodby to the students, teachers and personnel of West High School. I am retiring this June, after many years of being a part of this outstanding School. It has been a great privilege and a pleasure to have been associated with West High School. Not only has it been an inspiration, but a lot of fun to work with the youth of this community. The rewards have been great. I am confident that the future of the school will be as splendid as the past that I have personally known. What West High School means to its graduates was dramatically shown last year when we celebrated West's 50th Anniversary; what it means to the staff is demonstrated each day by their work and words; what it means to the present students is expressed in the West High Creed. These are the things that make our school great. I shall miss my daily contacts with you, but I have plans for an intensely busy program of reading, outdoor projects and conservation work. Through these activities, I shall be in contact with the youth of Minneapolis; they are my greatest interest. Mr. W. Palm, Assistant Principal Good-by, Mr. Morris, The thousands of students and hundreds of faculty members who have had the good fortune to know you will indeed feel sod when you lock your office door for the last time. You have given generously of yourself and your abilities to the betterment of all who have been associated with you during your 35 years at West High School. Your life hos been a devoted one. Your many outstanding personal qualities have been enhanced by the manner in which you have lived and worked — always a gentleman and always building and strengthening the traditions of West High School. I indeed feel most humble in expressing to you that Well Done which comes from the hearts of all who have known you.
