Our athletes spurred on by pep fests; the gloom of defeat, the glory of victory.—The widening horizons of new fields of knowledge. —The glow of firm friendships; warm memories of special days and happy hours. It is the purpose of this 1955 Hesperian to depict all of these things through the eyes of West-THE EYES OF WEST ARE UPON YOU. 2 4 FACULTY «■ ura d a gt° They 5 MRS. GLADYS DAHUN MRS. Woo, Sac.; J. Bargford, Prai. Remember how much fun it wos to be Seniors—to look down at mere juniors and sophomores. Being Seniors, we found this year to be the best of all possible years; and we made the most of it. In June, when, one by one we held out our hand to accept our diploma, we proved that we had matured through three years of accomplishments; and that, at last, we were graduates of West High. 14 CLASS COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN Row 1i B. Leading us so ably through our year—till our commencement were the Senior Class Officers. Chosen to govern over the affairs of our class were: John Bergford, President; Gail Syverton, Vice President; Carol Woo, Secretary, and Bert Sherbarth, Treasurer. Those who achieved the highest scholastic rating of all attending West High School, earned the distinction of being valedictorian and salutatorian. The distinction this year went to Louis Claeson, Judith Beach, valedictorians; and Kathleen Edwards, salutatorian.
