Besides learning how to run a household economically, girls find that housekeeping can be an exciting adventure. Boys also find enjoyment in learning to cook delicacies. • Students who take art not only enjoy them- selves, but develop a future hobby or occupation. Within the year, sketching, carving, painting in tempera and water color as well as modeling in clay and plaster of Paris are included. • A busy atmosphere is found in the commercial department where typing, shorthand, stenography, office training and bookkeeping are learned. Understanding our country's problems, as well as those of other nations, is important as it will promote peace in this changing world. • Correct posture along with body coordination are achieved through sports, exercises and dancing in the gym courses. • The position of coordinator, whose job is to act as mediator between school and employer, is new at West.
