Although we didn't know it at the time, those twelve years of education were spent in preparing us to goforth, to help shape the world. The time has come for us to put aside the robes of the student and put on in their place the respon- sibilities of adulthood. But before we take this final step of our high school career, let us pause for a moment. In returning to the present from the memo- ries of our childhoods, our minds must necessarily pass across the memories of our last three years in school. ln doing so, we try to memorize each face, each day, each happening. For tonight is our last night to- gether, and we may not pass this way again. Tonight, West High School's Gradu- ating Class of 1968 stands before you as one person, sharing in the memories of our high school years. Thus far in our lives we had walked those hallways of education as through a mist, not knowing of the doorway we approached. To- night, however, we have reached the end of a corridor, and the doorway of our futures stands before us. Tonight that door stands open, beckoning to us, as we care- fully and cautiously, yet bravely and proudly step up, and poise on the threshold.
