GARY BOWLIN Newton C Morris Award ED DelEAN AM Mike Stath Memorial Award all 0I'l0l 5 Howmd War Memonal Fund Awards Each year two West High students are selected by the facul ty as the most outstanding citi7ens of the year The War Me morial Fund Awards are given in memory of former West students who gave their lives in World War ll 'o these two students Paul Wh1teman Medal To the most talented music student in each graduating class the Paul Whiteman Medal is awarded It is given in memory of Wilberforce I Whiteman former music supervisor of West High School Charles R McDonough Memorial Award The graduate who overcomes the greatest obstacles in com pleting his high school course receives the Charles R. McDon- ough Memorial Award. Harry Huffman Athletic Trophy ln memory of Dr. H. G. Garwood, the athlete who has been the most outstanding in school affairs receives the Harry Huff- man Athletic Trophy. Howard Wagner Memorial Award An athlete-scholar is the recipient each year of the Howard Wagner Memorial Award for being the athlete with the highest scholastic standing. Newton C. Morris Award and Mike Stath Memorial Award Each year the two persons selected as the most outstanding football and basketball players are presented with the Newton C.
