The wish of the Annual Board was to express ap- preciation in behalf of the entire faculty and student body ,by dedicating one page to these three grand teach- ers, but we have honored their requests that no pictures and only a very modest space be allotted to them. Mrs. Couden, Miss Ford, and Miss Hocking, we all feel deep gratitude for the years of friendship and asso- ciation with you and wish you every happiness in the future. To be graduating from West High School along with you, the members of the class of l946, is the priv- ilege of those of us who are retiring from the faculty in June. ln the coming years, we like you shall be seek- ing new experience and new opportunities for usefulness in life. It is for each of us, in the words of Tennyson, to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
