Secretary-Historian Sponsor-MISS LOIS GRIFFEY One of the most exclusive clubs in the school is the Masqueraders, West's Drama Society. Membership in the club is limiited to twenty-five students who show dramatic ability. After trying out, the candidate is voted upon by the club with regard to character, interest in dramatics, and scholarship. The dramatic ability of the applicant is determined by the sponsor and her com- mittee. New members must undergo public humiliations for a Week previous to the painful process of initiation. The main activity of the club is a one three-act play given in the spring. The club must be prepared to render service to the school in the way of drama- tic presentations Whenever it is called upon. In the annual speech conference at Denver University in the spring the Masqueraders represented West. One of the oldest girls' clubs in West, the Domestic Arts Club, is active in promoting many of the social and school affairs. The purpose of the club is to develop the personality of the members and to help them to become more charming girls and women. There are many traditional activities during the club yearg two of them are the semi-annual rose initiation for new members. and the Mother-Daughter Banquet in the spring. During the year many prominent men and women give valuable addresses at the meetings. Included in the club's social calendar this year were a mountain outing, the boy-friend party, a box supper, an ice-skating frolic, and several picnics.
