Sports Editor ' s Note: Putting together an entire Sports section was not one of the easiest jobs I ever did. and wasn ' t a job for which I can claim full credit. 1 couldn ' t begin to name the dozens of people who helped me, for if it had not been for their assistance, this section, in short, would have been a total flop. The coaches, teachers and administrators should be commended for their advice, but the real thanks should go to the athletes who went out of their way to identify pictures, research infor- mation, and double-check statistics to make what I feel is the best Sports section the Chieftain has ever had. Scott Antaya and Martin Stowe have been told continually how much I appreciate all the work (and long hours) they went through in order to give me such a fine selection of prints to choose from.
