Track Teams Meet Approval Coach Fred Petersen had a tremen- dous turnout for track in his first year as the Warrior ' s head track coach. 132 thinciads reported and worked hard toward a Bay League championship. The Warriors were picked as the Dark Horse of the league with Rol- ling Hills and Morningside as the fav- orites. The sprints, hurdles and pole vault appeared to be the strong points as C.I.F. finalist Steve Zak turned in a 9.8-100 and a 22.-220. Other top sprinters were Larry DeGasperin and Eric Meyer. Cory Hons and Doug Todd led the timber-toppers and were strong favorites to win their specialities in the Bay League finals on May 9th. Greg Davis and Brett Williams complete this outstanding hurdles crew. Mike Ends had allready tied the school record in the pole vault at 13 ' 13 , and is pointing toward a 14 foot vault. Tim Harist, Dale Fitch and Doug Todd complete the vaulting team. The distance runners were led by John Curry, Larry Jan- isch, Doug Skinner, Mike House and Rod Tower. Fred Burch, Allan Scott and Randy Palmer were the top shot putters, with Burch, a junior, all ready over 50 . Other top competitors are Louie Mejia, long jump; Bob Ludwig, high jumper; Ed Sheve, 440 Long jumper and Ron Schloderer, another Longjumper.
