Pops Concert Large Success The many West High concert lovers were in for a real treat when the West High band put on their annual Pops Concert. The concert included spectacular performances by the Wind Ensem- ble, Advanced and Concert bands. These bands played humorous, concert, and American Folk songs and included special performances by Tom Bopp playing a piano concerto and Cheryl McKee with a flute solo. As the audience will attest, the band put on a grand performance. It will be interesting to see if they can top this performance next year. . . Dance Production, Best Ever! Dancing on a circular stage was the main idea be- hind the Dance Dept ' s Dance-In-The-Round, held in late January. The seating was set close to the stage to allow the audience to identify with the dancers, and so that the feeling of the danc e could be well transmitted. The splended aray of dances were per- formed by the Dance Company, using many mar- velous methods of dance, including humorous, Jazz, abstract, litical, and modern. The wide selection of costumes added beautiful color to the great choreog- raphy of the girls, of whose costumes ranged from original creations to classical ballet. The night pleased the many spectators with the great tip-toe talent of the dancers. Once again, the sponsor of the dance groups, Gerry Holcomb, put the performers a step in the right direction.
