Many Moods of Christmas This year ' s Christmas Concert, The Many Moods of Christmas , was better than a success, and reflected superbly the talent incased in West. The theme was illustrated through song, dance, and narrations written by Norma Willson ' s Advanced Placement English class. All five choral groups, including the Artistocracy, Con- cert Choir, Advanced Girls ' Glee, Beginning Girl ' s Glee, and Men ' s Chorus participated in song and movement under the direction Donnelly Fenn. The Dance company, which per- formed to the selections by the Concert Choir and Aristo- cracy were also excellent. Highlights of the concert were a Barbershop Quartet, made up of members of the Aristocracy; duet by Mark Gordon and Cyndi Mannion, I Believe In Sants Claus ; and the combined Glee Clubs singing Fruitcake . The concert ended with the combined groups singing the traditional Halleluiah Chorus , which preceded a standing ovation to the performances. yi ?i ' j. 1 30

Dance Production, Best Ever! Dancing on a circular stage was the main idea be- hind the Dance Dept ' s Dance-In-The-Round, held in late January. The seating was set close to the stage to allow the audience to identify with the dancers, and so that the feeling of the danc e could be well transmitted. The splended aray of dances were per- formed by the Dance Company, using many mar- velous methods of dance, including humorous, Jazz, abstract, litical, and modern. The wide selection of costumes added beautiful color to the great choreog- raphy of the girls, of whose costumes ranged from original creations to classical ballet. The night pleased the many spectators with the great tip-toe talent of the dancers. Once again, the sponsor of the dance groups, Gerry Holcomb, put the performers a step in the right direction.
