Mark Morrow The J.V. team was undefeated gping into the final meet of the season. Team leaders were Steve Zwicker, Mike Franz, Dan Kar- dash, Joe Velez, Tim Kinane, Pete Woertler, and Jay Powell, The J.V. ' s finished second in the Ocean League. Steve Stout along with Darryl Coletto, Jim Herman, Den- nis Ledbetter, Jeff Keehn, and Mitch Hibbard led the Sophomores to second place in league action. Highlights of the Sophomor es ' season were a second place at El Camino, missing first by one point. They were one point short of second at Palos Verdes. The Sophomores scored an upset by beating Rolling Hills by one point. Coach Holtel thought the Sophomores did a great job in league finals . The Freshman came home with two runnerup championship team trophies at Westminster and Palos Verdes Invitationals. Two big wins over Hawthorne and Ingle- wood helped the Warriors take second place in the Ocean League. Outstanding runner Steve Orr was voted Individual Champion at the Westminister Invitational. Sup- porting Orr, and doing great jobs themselves, were Craig Hampton, Ron Percy, Tom Herman, Lonnie Jefferson, Scott Callihan, Jeff Horwick, and the rest of the Fresh- man team. Morrow Leads Varsity Cross Country Team The Varsity Cross Country team started off its season this yeai with a big upset over Hawthorne, 27-28, defying pre-season C.I.F. ratings. They proceeded to take the championship at the big West- minister Invitational. All this preceeded league action where the Varsity took fourth over all in the Ocean League. Junior Mark Morrow was outstanding, completing the season with first place in all but one dual meet and placing high in all invitationals. Morrow tied Mike Sellers ' all time home course record of 9:23. Placing first in the league, Morrow went on to C.I.F. representing the Ocean League. Joe Radishofski was another varsity leader with a fine home course record of 10:1 1 for the two-mile. Additional good scores were, for the two-mile, 10:11 by Dave Norberg, 9:57 by Dave Tussing on our home course, and 10:00 flat by Mark Judge. Fantastic improve- ment was made by junior Steve Zwicker, 11:17, and Steve Stout, 10:11.
