Bremerton High School has an excellent view of many beautiful mountains. Their attributes suggest in symbolism many virtues parallel with the traditions and the philosophy of the school. The mountains suggest the big ideals of the school. They imply steadfast and unswerving purpose. Their rugged peaks inspire all of us to put forth strenuous effort in order that we may climb to the utmost heights and thus have a wider and more comprehensive view of life and its fundamental philosophy. The snowfclad peaks glistening in the morning sunlight speak to us of clear and beautiful characters which may be ours. The quiet and solitude of many narrow valleys and treefbordered trails, far from the turmoil of civilization, invite meditation and wholesome reverie which is necessary for a good life. We hope that after you leave school that several years of association with good books, and interested faculty and good companions, you will have all the inspirational attributes suggested by the friendly mountains. This year the sofcalled good will trips were continued to various schools in the state, and we feel that the results justined the trips and hope to see them continued in the future. The various clubs in the school deserve a great deal of credit for the assemblies they have sponsored and the interest shown on the completion of the new memorial stadium of B. H. S. At the beginning of our school year the council aimed at two objectives. Those were to help the students at B. H. S. recognize his responsibilities in carrying out various laws and rules of our country in which he would have to follow after he is graduated. Secondly, our council aimed at keeping our school in good condition. We feel as if we have accomplished these objectives and have helped the student along on his journey to adulthood. The Council functioned similar to a court, with the Judge, Clerk and Prosecuting Attorney heading the court, and the other members acting as a jury. Representatives of various clubs and organizations composed the council. I would like to' thank all the students for their splendid cooperation during this year. Our funds have been raised by Smokers that the boys have planned and worked out by themselves. This has given some boys an opportunity for experience in managing and organizing. It has given others a chance to turn out for boxing, another sport that is fast becoming one of the most popular sports of B. H. S.
