In affectionate memory of a great leader whos: fondest hopes was lasting peace, let us forget all incidental consideration in our determination to carry on until peace is won. Of our President who was rhe greatest war-casualty of World War H, let us remember his famous words-- The only thing to fear, is fear itself. Eff W 2' V I 1 X V X. it I will y,,40 '0M-JmV M The Cut Log staff merits sincere congratulations for a difficult task worthily accomplished. Despite the restrictions and limitations imposed by the conditions of war times, this annual excels those preceding it. The graduating class this year is unique in that it has been the recipient of the full impact of the war. For four years we have had the Double Shift and all the limitations on student activities which have necessarily followed. Despite handicaps the students have exemplified, this year more than ever, the philosophy of this school. Education in democracy and democracy in education. In all, extracurricular activites stu- dents plan and execute with a very minimum of suggestion from the advisers. We have confidence that in the years to come, the graduates of Bremerton High Schol will, in a very definite way, be influenced in demonstrating the democratic ideals and techniques learned here through participation in student affairs, by being leaders in the community for better government. We congratulate the class of nineteen hundred and forty-five and wish you well. Sincerely, H. D. Because of war time condi- tions many of the activities which have been held in the past years were curtailed to a certain extent. However, the year has been a succesful one with such activities as the Senior Play, the annual Senior Ball, Senior Tea, and Class Day being most out- standing projects. The class would like to extend its thanks ,to Miss Hoffman for her untiring guidance at all times. Also the members of the faculty for their assistance in help- ing to make us better citizens. NANCY WALL Adviser MR. COLVIN The Class of '48 is one of the largest in the history of Bremerton High School. We, the members of this class, are trying to make it one of the most successful ever to go through four years at B. H. S. We, in the past year, sponsored an all-school dance at Lincoln School after a basketf ball game in February. The Freshman parties at the Women's U. S. O. were perhaps the most successful of all the parties held. Dues of ten cents per person were col- ected to bolster our treasury. We arrived at the high school bewildered but we soon learned to enjoy life at B. H. S. Iam sure every Freshman is looking forward to his or her future years at Bremerton High School. Each girl on the Cabinet deserves more thanks than can be given here. The activities carried on this year were many and successfulg a few of them were, the Carnival, Teachers' Tea, Assemblies, Mixers, Vocational Conference, Red Cross, B Books, and we cannot forget our trips to various schools in Seattle and to Tacoma to promote friendship between our schools. The typing and records were always done to perfection, the bulletin board gay and alive with the latest news, the scrapbook kept 'up-to-date by Juanita, and the Auxiliary prospered under the supervision of Georgie. The success of the Girls' Club this year is due entirely to the way you, the Girls of Bremerton High School have responded to our call for assistance in undertiking these tasks. Thank you for making the Girls' Club Presidency such a pleasurable experience, and thank you, Miss Fales, for being such a wonder- ful Adviser.
