B. vote. The Wildcat of B. H. S. is our mascot, inspiration and our school spirit. The Log is a shi.p's diary, representing a navy town and a description of the activities of the school year. These are the two ideas from which the name Cat Log is derived. We are giving you an annual of a different name and made up all by the students with two advisers and no outside help. We hope we have lived up to your expectations in our New Cat Log. We were led that year hy .lim Braman, Ruth Lanning, W'inona Duckwilcr, Allwyn Ifriclcson, and Miss Howard, our adviser. Sophomores, having outgrown our 'greennessf' we sprang forth with many worth-While projects under the combined efforts of Allwyn Erickson, Luann Travis, .Iuanita blames, Helen Rogers, Kent Chollar, and Miss Gideon, our adviser. The biggest event of our .lunior year, the tlunior Prom, is one to be long remembered and looked back upon as a success. Our leaders that year were Les Iiathorne, .Iuanita blones, Doris Thompson, Norma McCleary, and Miss Zlenko, our adviser. Our country, having entered into war, many, as Seniors were called into defense industries. ln spite of the times, we had a super Senior Picnic, and inspiring Bacculaurate, and a beautiful Graduation. That year, our hard-working oliicers were Allwyn Ifriclcson, Harry Flesher, Lois Black, Mack Smith, and Miss Hoffman, our adviser. Now, leaving high school, none of us are able to predict what the future holds for us. Some of us will go on to college, others will be defense workers, and many will be in our armed forces. The Class sponsored an all-school dance, which was a great success, to raise money for the Prom. The junior Prom was one of the outstanding events of the year. All who attended agreed that it was. The Cats opened the season with a 21-19 win over Sequim. Sequim surprised the Bremerton fans with a brilliant team. The next week the Cats took Bellingham into camp, 8-U. The team traveled to Wenatchee for its next game, which Wenatchee won, 27-6. We won a close game from Shelton the following week, 14-13. Traveling to Port Angeles, the Cats were defeated, 20-13. The following week the Cats lost a heart- breaker to the Irishmen of O'Dea, in the most exciting game of the year, with a score of 14- 13. A powerful Seattle Prep Team then de- feated Bremerton, 24-0, at Seattle. The Wildcats ended the season with a defeat from Clover Park, 7-6. The annual fooball banquet was held in December and Walter -lack was chosen as the most inspirational player, which is an annual event. WALT JACK BAYER if ' . m l is tl is il I y f,.h-gg , -. NN P NICE CHECK! DEVANEY PEASE THOMPSON 1 1941 BASKETBALI We did it before and we almost did it again, the second best 'team in the state is as good as we could do this year. With three lettermen hack from last year's star-studded team, Bremerton won twenty-six straight games.. before dropping their first to the Everett Seagulls, but this loss did not erase their Cross-State League Championship. In the State Tourney, Bremerton entered as one of the dark- horses because they were in a' had slump after losing a game to a West Central District team. But as the Tournament progressed it became apparent that Bremerton was going to go somewhere and it was finally beaten by a great team from Hoquiam hy a two point margin in the championship game. So another year is over and the record reads, twenty-two wins and three losses for the year 1942. Volley ball teams were in full swing, basketball groups turned out faithfully, and when spring came, a large group of softball fans turned out to meet the challenge of friendly competition, fun, and sportsmanship. The Seniors are champs in Volley ball, but the Sopho- mores won the basketball tournament. All managers deserve praise for the fine way in which they mzinaged their sports and encouraged beginners. Swimming, bowling, ice skating, badminton, and tumbling were enjoyed by many girls, and many received their lst, 2nd, and 3rd leters. Roberta Hill and Beryle Barrieau, outstanding athletics for the year, received their 4-th letter, having earned a total of 2,000 points. BASKPYI' BALI, VOLLEY BALI. ru l. llr'ziju.nlt, Brown, Forbes.
