ACADEMIC LETTERS f Academic letters were first given in 1969, for the purpose of recognizing those students who have given time and talent to West Henderson in scholarship and extracurricular activities. To earn an academic letter the student must have a total of 100 points. Students earning academic letters in 1969 are: Malcolm Roberts, Robin Evans, Billy Crane, Joe Osborne, Luther Wilson, Greer Pruitt, Gary Shepherd, and Mike Sizemore. Not shown in the picture are Kenny Revis and Danny Stansell. 100

HONOR STUDENTS See Aiefouan. SAW Pe Miss Marie Thomas, daughter of Reverend and Mrs. James Thomas, was Valedictorian of the 1969 graduating class. Marie was a member of the Falcon Staff, Beta Club, and Forensic Club. She was a National Merit Semi-Finalist and attended Governor’s School . Marie now attends Duke University at Durham. Ronald Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Clark was Salutatorian of the 1969 graduating class. Ronald was a member of the Falcon Staff, Beta Club, Key Club, and was active in athletics. He now attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. gs)

DECA DISTRICT OFFICERS Eury Corn of the West Henderson Deca Chapter was elected Vice-President of Deca District I. He is the son of Mrs. Angela Corn. Eury is Vice-President of West Henderson’s Deca Chapter. He is also active in athletics and Monogram Club. Miss Sandra Lynch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lynch, was elected as Deca District I Parliamentarian. She serves as secretary of West Henderson’s Deca Chapter. In 1969, Sandra received the J. P. Stephens Scholarship in voice. 101
