Worley came to West in 1960 from Fletcher School, he already had many years of the teaching profession behind him. In the ten years that he taught here, Mr. Worley tried to exemplify all that West High stands for. His guidance in the Forensic Club provided many students with their first experience in public speaking. As an instructor of the Special Education class, he showed his great concern for his fellow man. Mr. Worley showed much pride, interest and enthusi- asm for the students of West High. Part of this was exemplified in the fact that he wrote a book of poetry entitled “Rhymes of Time: Poems of Human Interest” and dedicated it to the students of West Henderson High School. It is, therefore, proudly that we dedicate the 1970 FALCON to a truly outstanding man, Mr. Wade Wil- liam Worley. fhe County =a dhaptnnib ron yeee, Mr. J. M. Not only are awards for achievement presented, but new Student Body Officers take over and Seniors take their final walk. As April and May drew near, most Seniors began to realize that their “school days” were drawing to a close. Others knew they would never see “long-time” friends again. Yet, they all knew they had reached an important time in their lives, and that being, a new challenge. 25 Pande ee November 17, 1969, the Hellacious Haulers (Sopho- mores and Seniors) met the Untouchables (Freshmen and Juniors) at Johnson Field. The Hellacious Haulers ostracized the Untouchables 16 to 6. The halftime entertainment consisted of crowning the Powder Puff Queen, Miss Prissy Pressley, the Drill Team and the West High Pep Band. ——————————— 26 Ua ae . eek as Mea toothat 4...the drea tor OF C —P 4 And the dreatn that Our COACHES fred sorrells athletic director bennie lemon don slaughter football (§ the dream Of «..
