( Algebra I Students at Freshman Orientation Freshmen Enjoying Lunch “LIFE ON THE HILL” In the fall of 1961 two hundred and twenty-nine excited freshmen reported to the West Henderson High School campus. We realized that we had before us four years. The thought was frightening. All of the upper classmen seemed to know exactly where they were going, Those first few days were hectic, but soon we began to learn what was expected of us, especially where we were supposed to be, and where we were not supposed to be. As the weeks moved along, we began to establish ourselves as a necessary part of the Life on the Hill , | We began to see our class members becoming a part of the football team and the basketball teams. We | began to actively participate in the dramatic, forensic, glee, and cheering clubs, the F.H.A, and the F, F,A, When Bill Worley was elected treasurer of the student body, the Freshman class was in its glory. | Studying, going to class, the library, activities--all of these made up our Life on the Hill , FRESHMAN

LIBRARY ASSISTANTS The library at West Henderson High School contains approximately three thou- sand eight hundred titles. Thirty-three mag- azine subscriptions are received regularly, and two newspapers are delivered daily. The library furnishes the students a very pleasant atmosphere for studying. It is open from 8:00 A.M, until 4:00 P.M, with the open book shelves allowing the students an Opportunity to browse among the books in selecting the title that they want to borrow.
