Sophomores making use of their library period. A popular place for all students, SOPHOMORE “LIFE ON THE HILL” After one trying year and one short summer, we returned to West High as sophomores. We now consisted of one hundred and thirty-six, eighteen less than the one hundred and fifty-four that we had boasted of during our freshman year. We were no longer unfamiliar with the campus, the faculty, the students, and the Life on the Hill”, We found ourselves once again with confusing schedules, being moved from one class to another, and standing in line for lunch. All too soon things began to move into place. We were settling down for a year of working, studying, and playing. As the year moved toward the end, we began to realize that we were reaching the halfway mark in our years in high school. We felt that we had done well, Our boys showed themselves in football, basketball, and baseball, while the girls helped to cheer them on. Three of our girls worked hard for the basketball squad. Many struggled to make the honor roll, and many struggled just to get through the year.
