Seniors anticipating graduation. A typical Senior Class meeting. SENIOR “LIFE ON THE HILL” One hundred and fourteen proud seniors registered for the last time at West Henderson on August 26, 1961, We were nearing the end of our journey through high school. We watched the days, weeks, and months hurriedly passing. Dean Sumner was elected President of the student body. We had our last football game and basketball game. We were measured for rings and then for Caps and gowns. Soon we were able to see the end of our life at West High. The title of Seniors had placed much responsibility on us. We began to evaluate what we had gained. We had gained an education that would lead us into college, into jobs, and eventually into marriage. We had gained many new friends among the students and faculty,
