Under their new coach M McGeehan who took the place of Mr Horn now a member of the United States Army the West Hazleton Wildcats played through a very successful season during l942 and l943 The Wildcats won second place in the first half and tied for second place in the second half of the Anthracite League The Wildcats wound up with a percentage of 706 win ning l2 games and losing 5 games They played good defen sive ball as well as good offensive basketball Senior members of the team are Captain Stork Gillis Bill Zankofski Richard Zablock Jerry Fink Anthony Kulsa Bob Havrilla Joe Harvilla and Henry Geary. Each player did his part to make this a successful season for their new coach. For next year Coach McGee- han will have a whole host of promising young players includ- ing four players left from this years Varsity: Ray Lewis Joe Taresevich Dave Kaskilitz and John Kapes. Km
