The West Grant High School Gym was the scene of a basketball game between the members of the University of Wisconsin Rose Bowl Football Team and the Southwest All Star Team on January 29, 1963. The local team was made up of basketball players from the area schools. Ron VanderKelen served as co -captain of the team and with the other Rose Bowl players they did an outstanding job of playing basketball and demon- strating football techniques. At the half-time, John Fabray and Ron Vander- Kelen presented the awards for captain and most valuable player to the members of the West Grant football team. 1 JJ ,qt J, - l its Ron VanderKelen plays defense. 1 Ron VanderKelen and John Fabray present the Most Valuable Player award and Captain of the Year award to Doug Caya and Mike Noethe Walz Lumber Company g y, Ba le Wis. -15-

The dys of March and April were filled for the students making preparations for many events. Careful planning and thoughtful con- sideration made each and everyone of those a success. Spring was here and students were happy and ambitious, waiting for the few remaining months of the school year to pass by, and thoughts of graduation soon came to the minds of the Seniors. 1962 Badger Girl State Representatives Pat Stoefiler, Lynn Ellis, LaRene Grauer and Marcia Harris, tell the 1963 Badger Girls about it.
