Many families produce the ma- jority of the meat, vegetables and dairy feed on their own land. Some cotton is grown on prac- tically every farm. All of which means that the local people are strong and healthy, getting their substance from the good earthfl Some of the residents are en- gaged in textile work in nearby mills, while others grow flowers and operate Horist shops. No area adjoining Greenville has had a more rapid growth and development than the one ol which we are a part. just a few years ago Gantt School had only one small building and an enroll- ment of 122. 'lioday the plant consists ol' a grammar school building, high school building, gymnasium, and manual arts shop -'all constructed of brick and modern in every respect. Con- struction began in 1937 and has continued at intervals until the present, the estimated value of the plant being 583,000 It is with a feeling of pride that we are privileged to be a part of a locality as beautiful and as resourceful as the Gantt come munity.
