F RESHMAN CLASS HISTORY The doors of Worthington-West Franklin High School swung open to the forty-seven prospects of the class of 45 on September 2. How proud and eager we were to discover what the high school career had in store for each one of us. We started this journey which then seemed so long under the able direction of Mr. Henry our home room teacher. While we sincerely regretted losing Mr. Henry s help when he left to assume another position we were glad to welcome again as our homeroom advisor Mr. Good who had been our homeroom teacher for the last two years that we were in the grades. The first 'big event of our career was the election of the following class officers: Robert Baird president' ack Butler vice president' Irene Branan secretary' Dean Cooper treasurer' Eunice Milligan chaplain Smith left our group to find work on his father s farm. We were glad to wel- come to our group Betty Emigh who had attended Kittanning during the first part of the term. The year has afforded us a variety of activities to add additional interest to our usual work. We sponsored two assemblies. ln one of the assemblies we featured a question bee with Robert Baird as Dr. Dizz. In our second assembly we presented some short humorous plays. We enjoyed and appreciated too the Hallowe en and New Year s dances sponsored by the seniors. Variety and interest were added to our English class when Miss Mitchell our teacher for the first semester was replaced by Miss Leslie the new music teacher. It has been a happy year and we believe that it has been a profitable one too. We are looking forward with eager anticipation to our next term when we shall no longer be the little freshies but rather we shall be the mighty sophomores of the Worthington-West Franklin High School.
