Chip started getting serious about his art about four years ago. This year Chip took Art IV. He said that his main school influence was Mrs. Pat Spainhour, because she pushed him to get things done. Chip likes to draw cartoons because there are not any set guidelines. No one can say the proportions are not correct. The animation works of Walt MOVE OVER CHARLES SHULTZ: Chip Russell works on a piece of his art. Chip plans to enhance his ability by going to Appalachian State University and major in com- mercial art. Disney influenced Chip's early years. WaltDisney was very original and creative, said Chip. Another influence for Chip was Saturday morning cartoons. When asked about future plans, Chip said, I want to go to Appalachain State Universi- ty and major in commercial art or graphic design then possibly work with animation.
