Iniaddition to having foot- ball in common these guys thoughta lot alike about many things. Both Bobby and Phil served as officers of the senior classg Phil as president and Bobby as vice president. All three listed ACC teams as their favorite. Football was a common bond for the three young men. They all loved it, but for differ- ent reasons. Herman liked the c excitement andvdrama, also the fun of playing. Phil found the cooperation of the players 84fThe Class of 1987 that makes the team success- full' the part of the game that he enjoyed most. Bobby, on the other hand, said, Pm not a mean person, but I love contact? B t These three young men pos- sessed the leadership and attif tude that made them capable of exerting a positive influence on their fellow teammates. Eachebrought a trait that helped blend the squad into a cohesive unit that met great success. t Bobby, Herman and Phil definitely have what it takes to be successful in sports and life. SENIORS We UT OF THE ORDI ARY by Anna Howell While growing up, most peo- ple want to be something like a fire-fighter or a doctor. For David Vernon, being an elec- trician was an exciting idea. Pvc always wanted to be an electrician, commented David. David works after school and on Saturdays at Hire and Sons Electrical Company. I do everything a licensed elec- trician does and sometimes A SHOCKING REVELATION: Da- vid Vernon carefully opens an electri- cal socket, David plans to get his elec- trical license and continue his work in this field. He plans on getting his license within the next four years after success- fully passing the required tests. Hunting, fishing and other sports are among David's hob- bies. But these things will not interfere with his stated goals: passing the electrician's test this spring and graduating with a good education?
