Besides having a new band director and Flag Team, West had another new musical group called Destiny. Destiny, an after- school chorus organization, sang at the Christmas music program, as well as other school functions. It also sang at communi- ty events such as the ceremony for the incorporation of Clemmons. At Christ- mas, a video tape was made for WXIIQ it featured Christmas songs and carols sung by Destiny along with other school choirs. Mark Cartner, a member of the group, felt that Destiny gave those involved a chance to sing just for funf, The extracurricular music programs ex- panded with many changes this year, and although the additions were not drastic, they did enhance the school year. They filled it with sounds that will always be remembered as a special part in the re- cording of 1987. ww -,.. 5 S
