However, one freshman, Mike Espositog did make it to the varsity level as a cheerleader. I really became interested in the sport when the squad here became co-ed, stated Mike. I like learning and trying new stunts. It brings me great pleasure to success- fully complete a difficult stunt or to master something new. This was Mike's first year as a cheerleader, and he .hopes to continue participatingiinr this sport because he really enjoys cheering. Mike also enjoys the sports competitiveness and use of gymnastics. J J J yi J Playing J.V. soccer and baseball were also among Mike's interests this year. In addition, he participated in Westis student government as part of the Steering Commit- tee. These three girls came to a new school and had to adapt to new rules and make new friends. It took a lot of determination and maturity to organize work for the freshman class. Vice President Tate Day commented, I enjoyed work- ing with my classmates. There NEW KIDS ON CAMPUS: Fresh- man class officers Jenny Howell, Presi- dentg Tate Day, Vice Presidentg and Leanne Hlghsmith, Secretaryffrea- surer, all hoped to make this a great year for the freshman. M Jenny Howell said that she thought this had been the best freshman year.
