Cullen Howell is not only interested, he has been at it a long time. 'Tm not sure of an exact age, but my first experience in a musical was The Music Man. I think I was ten years oldj' said Cullen. Cullen's interest in drama was encouraged by his mother, who has been involved in musi- cal dramas. Cullen is not sure what it is about drama that interests him, but he said, the chal- lenge of leaving your being and attempting to partly interpret another person is intriguing. I've played the piano for approxi- mately six years and have sung all my life. Music provides an excellent refuge for me away from the regular high school life, said Cullen. When asked if he would want to make drama his career, he said, I doubt I would ever tire of something as enjoyable as drama, but realistically, I would never want to subject myself to the strict rigors in- volved. SOPI-IGMURES Driving Ambition by Terri Hodges Getting a drivers' license is probably one of the most excit- ing times in a teenager's life. When asked about having a license as a sophomore, Ka- trina Boston replied I think it's great! Now I can go any- where without having to wait until it's convenient for my parents. 99 says, I already have a job and my money will go toward gas and insurance if I get a car. Some sophomores can't wait to get their license and a car, but parents aren't too happy with the thought. Although many think having their license and a car is all thrills, it's not. It is really a big step toward responsibility. In order to keep their car maintained many sophomores will have to get a part-time job to pay for the little extras.
