nel Steele JU IDRS Tuning Up By Bridget Ruth She was seen on Friday nights during home A football games. She had 100 people who depended on her for half- time festivities to run smooth- ly. Her name is Michelle Kuhl and she had the position of West drum majorette. Michelle became interested in being a drum rnajorette in junior high school because it's the highest position a person can attain in a school band. She admitted Yes, I did get nervous when I think about LEADER OF THE BAND: Michelle Kuhl, drum majorette, leads the band in a West Forsyth production of Phil Collins's song, Sussudio. Then again, I can't afford to get nervous, because I just think and concentrate on what I'm suppose to be doing. To prepare for a perfor- mance Michelle said, I make sure my outward appearance is in order. I also try to make sure I'm in order on the inside by mentally going over how every- thing is supposed to look. Michelle found time to be on the Speech and Debate Team, French-Spanish Club, Drama Club, Swim Team, and Na- tional Honor Society. Through it all Michelle kept drum ma- jorctte her main priority.
