SE IGRS STUDYIN A HARD HABIT Y TO BREAK C By StaceyJiQ13CS , t Many people do not like to study. Sybil Rhodes, however, does. I enjoy reading, writing, and learning, but I do not real- ly enjoy memorizing facts. Sybil is an honor roll stu- dent, who also works as a sales- person at Foxrnore. Despite her heavy schedule, she still Ends time to study. I study from fifteen minutes to two or three hours a day, depending on how much work I have and what other activities I have planned. Other than working at Foxmore, Sybil is also very BRAIN POWER: Sybil Rhodes shows off the technique that has won her nu- merous academic honors. Aside from her devotion to schoolwork she also has a great love of dancing. SE ICDRS HE D OF THE CLASS by Mark Cartner At most high schools, foot- ball captains are reserved for leading their peers on the grid- iron. However, this year at West that was not the case. Phillip Truiett, and Bobby Paige were not only captains of the varsity football team, but also served as senior class pres- ident and vice president re- spectively. They were joined by Tim Yarbrough who held down the job of Secretary-Treasurer. Jennifer Singer Kedgren Smith Kathy Snyder Greg Speas Jennifer Stevenson Lisa Stoakley Steve Stout Johanna Stovall Jerry Stover Scott Streetman Renee Strong Ginny Sugg David Summers Allen Surratt Derrick Swing 96fThe Class Of 1987 When asked why they chose to run, the three gentlemen had basically the same response. Each one stated that he wanted to be more involved in the school. Said Phil Truiett, I wanted to make 1987 the best it could be. But the bottom line was Phillip Truiett, Bobby Paige, and Tim Yarbrough wanted their senior class of 1987 to be the best ever. And under the guidance of senior class adviser, Mr. Jim Ander- son, this wish was fulfilled. MANLY LEADERSHIP: The Senior Class was led by a trio of young men. Philiip Truiett served as President while Bobby Paige held down the vice- presidency. Tim Yarborough was the SecretaryfTreasurer.
