 GLANCING UP FROM HER WORK: Senior June Pasquorelll takes time to flaunt her fashion statement COLOR COORDINATION: Senior Jen Nargi wears a brocelet to match her sweater Fads come and go so quickly, it's tough if you blink. We go through stages; there was the Lemon Twist and the hula hoop. However, about once every season, students come up with a fashionable trend you wouldn't be caught dead wearing the following year. Would you wear bell-bottoms with neon socks and lace gloves today? So what's the trend this year @ Wessex? Yam. Yam bracelets, anklets, and necklaces are additions to al- most every student's wardrobe. Students obviously enjoy wearing, and making, them. During a boring lecture in class, one student can be found with some twisted strings of fall colors! Different colors twined in different patterns worn right next to the gold and ster- ling silver. I WEAR MY SUNGLASSES AT NIGHT: Senkxs Glee Gambol and Rick Hompson do ttie bunny hop. 14 STUDENT LIFE SUNGLASSES?: Senior John DeJesus has glasses that just might have a real purpose. SUNGLASSES Sunglasses were originally invented obviously to block the sun out of one's eyes. Then came the birth of Ray-bans and Foster Grants and glasses were now not only practical but also fashionable. Today, almost everyone owns a pair of sunglasses. They are worn not exclusively as a necessity, but as a piece of jewelry. West Essex has appeared to adopt this trend; wearing your shades became a popular move primarily because, since such prominent stars as Tom Cruise and Bruce donned their glasses, others follow suit. But the question remains unanswered. Why do people continue to wear their sunglasses at night... ? • because when you're cool, the sun shines on you 24 hours a day.
