When the class of 1967's turn came to enter we were overawed by the enormous size of these halls and the dec- orative posters that welcomed us as Freshmen. Although told that we were ready for the responsibility of high school work, we were hesitant to accept it. As we trudged on into Sophomore year, we began to realize the role that West End High would play in the development of our lives. Another year - and we were Juniors who accepted whole-heartedly the ideals set before us. We had become a vital part of our school. The Baby Lions were children no longer! Now, in Senior year, we have gained a new pride and an exuberance of spirit, both of which were unknown to us before. Our enthusiasm is unexcelled. We have grown in stature, mind, and spirit in the brief span of four years. Yet, this is not the end. It islmerely the beginning, a dress rehearsal for tomorrowls show. Soon we shall de- part, each to play his part upon a larger stage. ln after years, when time has dimmed the memory of our sojourn at West End High, perhaps this book will serve to reconstruct in retrospect our happy years within THESE HALLOWED HALLS. 45 ,,,,,1 , -3' DEDICA T I ON To one who gives her time and asks nothing for it, To one who leads her students down the pathway of learning, To one who serves our school whole-heartedly, To one who supports the high standards of West End High School, To one who is dear to the hearts of all her students, We the Seniors of 1967 dedicate this our edition of the Resume to you, Mrs. Martha L.
