Mr. Price's Message . . . Last spring when we received word that the contract for our new building had been let. you and I, along with a lot of other people. was very happy indeed. We have watched and waited patiently and with great interest the construction of our gymnasium and auditorium. When we were able to use the gym even partly, we were thrilled. We set up our hopes that we should be able to hold our graduation in the auditorium. Everybody concerned has worked diligently with this aim in mind. Today. as I write this message to you, we are still hopeful that such will be our good fortune. However, we must not be too badly disappointed if con- ditions beyond our control prevent our being able to use the building 'this spring. You have responded with other students to every call and have co- operated beautifully. You will continue to lend your influence in the right direction. regardless of what may happen, because you are that kind of people. You will move forward because you are fast becoming educated men and women. You will always remember this eventful senior year- the year of construction and evaluation. You will forget a lot of incon- veniences and privations, but you will not forget the great events and the part you played in helping to keep our program moving. I wish to thank you one and all for your excellent help and understanding and to urge you to meet whatever disappointments may come with that courage and determination that becomes a graduate of our great school. You are helping to build a tradition of which we are justly proud. You will take your places in our great democracy and will make all of us proud of you. It has been a great joy and privilege to have worked with you. It will be our pleasure to watch you take up your duties as men and women. Please keep us informed of your progress. N. H. Price. 55 RUDOLPH MILLS' MESSAGE . . . There is an event described in the Bible of a happy and yet a sorrow- ful time. For those who have completed their life's work and prepared themselves, it will be a most happy day. A sorrowful day it will be for those who fail in their purpose in life. Graduation from high school may be compared with this event. For those who have completed their work it will be a joyful day, and for those who have failed it will be a sad time. There will also be sadness in the hearts of those who have finished their tasks when the time comes to leave most of their friends and teachers behind. May this be a reminder to you not only to prepare yourself for graduation but for that great reckoning day.
