Two llut tanding enior Into the senior spotlight steps Margaret Walker, a well-known leader at West End High. Just to scratch the surface of her student activities, she has been vice-president of the Future Teachers of America. secretary of the Y-Teens, Welion editor. vice-president of the West End Chapter of the American Red Cross, a member of the Cabinet. Council, and the Latin Club, student teacher several times-want to stop and catch a breath? Even with all these activities. Margaret's studies are by no means neglected. She was selected as a member of the AA Society in an early semester, and was tapped for the National Honor Society in her sixth semester. During seven semesters of high school. twenty-four out of twenty-eight major averages have been A's. In her seventh semester. Margaret filled the office of vice president of the Honor Society, and in her eighth was secretary ofthe Honor Society. To show that others besides the students of Aba Daba respect her leadership, she was chosen as West End's D. A. R. Good Citizenship Girl this semester. As a crowning touch for all these achievements, Margaret has worked untiringly as the Senior Guest Editor of this publication. With a record like this, we all agree that Margaret Ann Walker is truly the outstanding girl in our senior class. .vu X Illurgnrvf Walker MM Charm. courtesy, capability and personality are among the noted characteristics of our outstanding senior boy. During his four brief years at Old Aba Daba, he has shown unexcelled leadership and ability. There has hardly been a six weeks when his name has not appeared upon 'the honor roll. His entire semester averages show no grade below a C, His club activities include the Hi-Y. Spanish Club, Double A Honor Society, and the National Honor Society. Even in his freshman year he held various session room offices and has continued to do so until 'the present time. He has also had the pleasure and privilege to serve as the president of the seventh semester session room. In his final year he was selected by the students to be the student body president. As the holder of this office. he has faithfully and honestly done his utmost to comply with the wishes of those who elected him. In the field of sports he has proven a capable athlete. As a sophomore he lettered in both B team basketball and B team tennis. In his junior and senior years he received varsity letters in basketball and tennis for his commendable performance. Among other musical instruments he has skillfully mastered the art of playing a violin, and upon many occasions he has provided his musical talents for P. T. A. meetings and other festivities. Bones is six feet. four inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and has R0 f'7'fGi 1f light brown hair and sparkling grey eyes. He plans to enter Birmingham-Southern next fall to take a teaching course. With luck he may even return to West End to educate future generations. With the above facts in mind we can 'truthfully title Robert Gray as our outstanding senior boy.
