His devoted service to West End School and to the mem- bers of the senior class has won our admiration and respect. By his example he has shown us the meaning of the following verse of scripture: He hath shewed thee, O man, what is goodg and what doth the Lord re- quire of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? L. NUGENT - Chairman MRS. T. R. BLOUNT MR. and MRS. J. G. HAZLEGROVE MRS, JERRY MOODY MRS. I. R, HARRISON JAMES ALLEN E, B, HOOVER Working behind the scenes, often times completely unnoticed, is the Education Commission of the West End Christian School. Believing that Christ is relevant in this scientific age, the Commission is committed to the purpose of showing that He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him HOC. . . But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God. Uohn 1:10, 125 The Education Commission is composed of members of West End Presbyterian Church who are chosen by the Session for their ability and interest in Christian Educa- tion. They are responsible to the Session and their actions are regularly reviewed by that body. Serving on a purely voluntary basis, this commission has brought good leadership to the school through the years. Regarding Christ as an important person in their lives they seek to provide an education and an atmosphere that is thoroughly Christian that boys and girls may receive the very Creator of the universe as their personal Lord and Saviour. , uperzhfen 0621211 75 Wessaye The world is fallen again upon evil days and, as always, is seeking for a man to de- liver, a scheme to save. There are many voices that cry, Here is the man! This is the scheme! But public idols and schemes have so often disappointed that men are wondering, Where shall wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding? Our purpose at West End Christian School is to show Christ as the One who has the plan by which we are to live. It is our purpose to raise the sights of young people to behold Him, the Son of God, that they might commit their lives to Him. To under- stand Him is wisdom and to know Him is life. O wise man, glory not in your wisdom, for with God man's wisdom is foolishness. O mighty man, glory not in your strength, for your knees are quickly loosed and death's fog soon blinds your eyes, O rich man, glory not in your riches, for these and thou are not together long. Would you glory? Then glory in this, that ye understand and know the Lord. X . I MASCOTS Vickie Leslie Darrel Benson cgezizzbr GQSS fpropfecy Seventeen years have gone by since the hectic day of passing out diplomas of the year of 1962, We shall now take a peek into the lives of the six prosperous seniors who left West End School that year. It is now the year 1979. Jimmy Lovelady, now owner and proprietor ofl. H. Lovelady and Son Funeral Home, is hauling them in left and right. By the way, Jimmy is still giving Mr. Crocker ad- vice on how to wear his ties. Butch Sale, is still in the same successful business of driving a laundry truck. In his spare time he doctors ailing trees and sweeps rocket launching pads in order to feed his family of eight, Reggie Webb, who still hasn't got his car fixed, is now manager of his own basketball team which consists of his five little sons. Yep, you guessed it - all red roof tops! Dick Bishop, who always had such a hard time getting to school on snowy days, now has his own private turnpike to travel on, free of toll. He's made his killing through his famous Dickie Pizzas and Pizzarettes. Wayne Haskett is now married and owns a chain of Food Fair Stores from Maine to Mexico. He is trying hard to write out a check to one of his employees, but it's all in vain because all his fifteen children are fighting to see who's gonna sit on Daddy's knee for tonight's beddy-bye story. Billy Lovelady, who is an Admiral in the United States Navy on the U. S. S. Ain't Been, is now giving free motorcycle riding lessons to all bleached blondes. In his leisure time he teaches his crew BIOLOGY and HOW TO BE A CHARLES ATLAS.
