Faculty - - The Foundation of Our School The faculty of any school should be con- sidered as the cultivators of student knowl- edge. Potentiality is next to nothing if it isn't developed. The faculty of West Deer is made up of a select group of competent people who are experienced in the various fields which they represent. It is they who bring out the best of every student by teaching what is past, but with a mind to the future. The understanding teachers at West Deer provide the incentive needed by the students to work to their fullest capaci- ties. Often times, a student would fall behind if it wasn't for the encouragement of his fine instructor. Through the example which the faculty has set, the students leaving the sheltered guidance of West Deer are better pre- pared to face the trials which best them with a sound and open mind. West Deer School Directors are left to right, seated: John Makuta, Elizabeth Doman, Wil- liam Palmer. Standing: Nelson Tonet, Louis Castello, Robert Graham, and Board Secretary William Roger. Missing from the picture are Max Siegel, so- licitor, and Robert Hazlett, Board president. Our Administration Behind every school there is a group of people who are responsible for keeping things running smoothly and efficiently. At West Deer this group is our administration and Board of Education. This year, Dr. Edgar J. Holtz, the new superintendent of schools, in- itiated many new concepts in curriculum of the school. Again, the guiding hands of Mr. Petrina and Mrs. Schuster, along with Mr. Marsili and .Mr. Angeloni of the Guidance De- partment were the effectual force leading us through another successful year at West Deer. Although the students at our school are con- tinually leaving to go out into the world or to seek higher forms of education, we are proud to say that these, our leaders, are an integral part of West Deer High. . ... .
