That's what this school term has been rated by observers at West Deer High School. Much of the credit for the highly successful year should go not only to the admin- istration, faculty and students but, also, to the hardworking group of township citizens who make up the Board of Education. Only through long hours of meetings and first han observation have they been able to attain a high standing for the West Deer edu ational system. However, the educational process is one of keeping up with the timbs. Therefore, a new school year will bring many new problems and considerations which must be faced by the Board of Education. 14 r ----YVYYV--YYYYYYYY VYYVYVY...YYYYYY VYVYYVYV.-..----.......-------...-.---...-.-----.-------.-.----.-...----..-----.....--..-.-.... ...... .... .....A........ ..,..................................... .............,,...... THE ANTLER COALAGRA Acquiring the biggest single project of the year, this group lived up to all expectations in making the 56 Coalagra bigger and better than ever. Long and often thankless hours were spent by each staff member in an attempt to give the West Deer student the best yearbook possible. The staff also credited Mr. Angeloni and Mr. Schultz, advisors for the first year, for their much appreciated help. The only wish now of the staff is that the student body enjoys the 56 edition and that the book will become more valuable in the years to come. Going into its l'lth consecutive year of publication, The Antler this year featured an entirely new method of producing a newspaper. Under the supervision of Mr. Angeloni, the Antler staff was able to keep all news hot up to the minute by publishing each week. Another improvement was addition of local pictures and a monthly roto section. Although experimenting with the many new features, the 1955-56 Antler staff was able to pioneer in many phases of modern day journalism. Brudney. Grebeck. korz. It was easy to determine when a F.D. session was over because the members continued to do the rhumba or tango in the halls. LE CERCLE FRANCAIS West Deer's one and only language club is quite the thing with the French and post-French students. Again this year Le Cercle Francais had a new sponsor. With Mr. Formento at the helm, the club was able to accomplish new and varied activities. When students wandered into one of the club's friendly meetings, they were bewildered at the extent to which the French language was being spoken. T CLASS SONG iMusic to the tune of Moments to Remember. Lyrics by Joanne Caufield, Class of 19565 The time has come for us to part But there are mem'ries in our hearts Of the fun we had at West Deer High School. The things we learned, the friends we made These memories will never fade We will not forget our days in high school. fmiddlej-Though graduation's here at last, We can't hold back our tears, The laughter we shared in the past Will echo through the years. Though other nights and other days Will find us gone our separate ways We will still have memories of high school. I MARTIN DISTRICT Mrs. Harry E. White Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J.
