In rhyme, in time . . . Altogether now, a-one, and a-two, and a-three . . . fThe judges beat time as Alice cha-cha'd With the bailiff and repeated after him penitentlyj Faster, faster fthe bailiff mutteredj just hurry on around We've got to get this passed by council And the constitutions found. Don't forget the carwash Friday . . . And wire the mall for sound. Faster, faster fthe bailiff mutteredj We'rc slowing down, I feel- You've got to keep on organizing, lf you want to be a wheel! Darn! Now where did that white rabbit go? It puzzles me and makes my head ache so To follow 'round and 'round in circles- -What was that? Asked a menacing Cheshire cat- I merely stated that I hate to run around in circles! Did you hear what she said? fThe Queenj Well, I say, Off with her head! Nobody asked you, M'dear, acknowledged the King The judges nodded solemnly and didn't say a thing. Suddenly Alice found herself in a huge courtroom, Obviously condemned to complete and utter doom, By a million people most oflicious and with faces full of gloom. Ahem, ahem, we will hear the sentence . . The king cleared his throat with some difficulty. But Sir, of what crime am I guilty? The bailiff read, Miss Alice has been found Guilty by the judges and must do pennance. She shall learn to dance the cha cha and repeat this round ,Z FQ 9 f xx P I X' fif W1 ,L , MAD! Dave Gefcfaesz A.S.B. Pfcesideab Tall and lean, sincere and trustworthy, these were the characteristics of Abe Lincoln, our sixteenth president of the United States. As these dis- tinguishing features pointed out a great leader of his day, these same fea- tures point out the kind of a leader to the students of West Covina High School. Of course we are talking about the President of our Student Body, Dave Getches. In this past year Dave has done a marvelous job in providing all the necessary advice, supervision and know-how that a good school needs to thrive on. He has accomplished many successful projects, the largest being the installation of our HI-LIGHTS. With all of the time-consuming hours of work and planning that it takes to run the student body, Dave somehow winds up with a remarkable AU average in his scholastic subjects. His interest lies in math and he plans to continue his education at Stanford University. The students of West Covina High would like to take time out, to thank Dave Getches for providing us with all of the necessary advantages for a wonderful year of high school. We are sure that Dave will have a great past to look back on, but even a greater future to look forward to. I6 TewPobP ' ' Want to know for whom the Tea Party is planned? The dynamic force behind our student body is the A.S.B. Cabinet. Each Cabinet member has his specific duties. When they are all put to- gether, a well-rounded, fun-filled school year come into focus. Refereeing at the table of school events was our SECRETARY OF ACTIVITIES who came out of the battle unhazed, with the exception of a few memories of sleepless nights. A face as familiar to us as any of the pep squad, is that of our SECRETARY OF ATH- LETICS. It was his job to organize rallies and to handle most things pertaining to sports events and school spirit. Taking on a great challenge and a heavy re- sponsibility is our white knight, Mike Bradly. As SECRETARY OF ENFORCEMENT this year he worked with the vice-president and the En- forcement Agency. Linda, our SECRETARY OF FINANCE, spent her hours keeping the A.S.B. moneybags in order. Cherril and Marcia have tried many cases in the Student Court. Diana, SECRETARY OF PROGRAMS, spent many hours arranging assemblies for our enjoy- ment. West Covina High was well represented on the Valley Youth Page of the San Gabriel Valley Tribune due to the efforts of our SECRETARY OF PUBLICITY, Sally. Keeping very busy this year was our SECRE- TARY OF RECORDS, Karen. Oh, Dear, the candy man's late with the kings tarts. We've got to get this stocked by A Lunch! Our SECRETARY OF STUDENT SALES is in charge of the student. To all our Mad Hatters and March Hares a big Thankyou! n at ' Dave is not too busy to smile at everyone
