' I - , . , . , . - 1 - 1 1 - 1 , . , . - I - I I ' I ffm Hsfary On a warm September day un T939 a group of shy and bashful students was untroduced unto the West Concord Publuc School as members of the first grade Of thus group flve students have struggled through T2 long years of learnung un West Concord They are Elaune Leach Shurley Glawe James Caun Royce Agerter and Genevueve Fusher Muldred Sathrum and Aluce Hughes uouned the class un uts fourth year but Aluce remauned for only one year and returned agaun as a Freshman ln September of T947 thurty eught green Freshmen started theur second phase of educatuon at West Concord Hugh School On Fruday October 3 there was laughter aplenty un the assembly as the freshmen came strollung un dressed un queer costumes The gurls wore theur haur up un stockungs and the boys wore women s hats and lou g dresses On November 'I3 we entertauned the Sophomores wuth a return party un the gym We closed our Freshman year wuth a pucnuc at Ruce Lake endung the day goung roller skcutung un Kenyon Durung our Sophomore year we lost four students George Knudson Ruchard Muldensteun who us now un the Aur Force Delores Ray and Betty Tumm We also gauned two students Darlene Naylor and Arthur unutuated the freshmen and they later returned the party We ended our Sophomore year wuth a pucnuc at Cedar Lake and un the evenung had a wuener roast un the Kenyon Park The Junuor year was the hughlught of the class career A very success ful play Growung Pauns was presented under the durectuon of Mrs Moeller We lost a fcw pupuls that year too They were Darlene Naylor Patrucua Knobel Clyde Fette and Donald Wuuft We gauned two Mavus Johnson and Rose O Kane We closed our Junuor year wuth a pucnuc at Waseca Thus year T951 marks the 'l2th and last year for our class We gauned two students Pat Knobel and Mary Clawson We also lost two Louuse Myer who us attcn-. ng school un Claremont and Charlotte Rhodes who left the class un December to become Mrs Charles Hughes The West Wund staff was organuzed wuth Maruvon Wuchser and Marlys Grothe as Co Edutors The annual Co Edutors were Elaune Leach and Charlotte Rhodes untul Charlotte left the class We have decuded as the classes before us to take a trup at the end of our Senuor year so we have been workung hard earmng money to make thus trup possuble I5 . , - , I ' I l I I I I I - . . , , , . . . . . , x . . . . , I I . . .
