His mind is occupied with studies and other cares, mostly other cares. ln September of '55 we entered We-Go High as bewildered freshmen with Miss Stahl as our class adviser. That year we elected Mike Adamson, President, Jack Simms, Vice-President, Dick Kloubec, Treasurer, and Tubby Warkentin, Secretary. We also sponsored the Freshman Basketball Tournament, and Freshman Day for the newcomers to We-Go. With Miss Geiken guiding us our sophomore year, we elected two new officers: Jerry Kerner as Vice-President and Sharon Weissing as Secretary. We put on our first party, The Plymouth Rock, which was a great success. The spring elections were won by the 59ers, a political party of four boys with Jerry Kerner, President, Bob Horrobin, Vice-President, Dick Kloubec, Treasurer, and Steve Willeumier, Secretary. Since our four Student Council members were also boys, we elected Mary Lou Hansen as Parliamentarian. Our iunior year we again had a ltremendousl Thanksgiving party, The Turkey Trot. ln mid-year Bob Horrobin moved and Jim Messer was elected to the Vice-Presidency. About 50 juniors went on the Washington trip that spring, accompanied by Miss Mahoney and Mr. Kiiskila, our class adviser. Also that spring we re-elected our four officers and presented the iunior class play, Father's Been to Mars. Our biggest event was the iunior-senior prom, Sayonara . We started our senior year with the homecoming dance, and put on another play, The Matchmaker, under the direction of Mr. Hanley. Our Christmas party Winter Dreams went over dreamily. Under the urgings of our class adviser, Mr. Smith, we financed the first printed edition of the We-Go. We worked industriously to construct a float depicting the theme Grind 'Em, and whole heartedly worked to present a successful Freshman Day program. ln our sophomore year we charged in again. We planned a very spirited homecoming bonfire. Vac the Vikings was the theme of our float and a class Valentine party concluded the sopho- more activities. We, the Class of '61 had our beginning on September 3, T957 as freshmen treading our way somewhat fearfully into a new life--that of high school students. Miss Stahl, our adviser, and our officers--Chuck Wilde, Jim Rakow, Kathy Weimer, and Bobbie Roloff---guided us in our earliest proiects. With iust the right mixture of fun and work our homecoming float, We-Go Strikes Tonight , G.A.A. initiation, Spring Fever, our class party, and an exciting winning football season followed one another in quick succession. Smoothly our sophomore year has progressed under the guidance of our officers and our adviser, Miss Geiken. Our homecoming float, Bulldogs Bark up the Wrong Tree, the bonfire and snakedance, and sock hops after basketball games among other things contributed to the fun and excitement. That is our calendar up until now, but--BEWARE! ll You'll be hearing much about the great class of 'ol in the years to come. 1 J. Adamson T ' A. A' f -1 , 1 NOT J. Azer '7 S 1 -an PICTURED ' T M. We continued our good work by electing six proud representatives to the student council, Ed Brown, Jim Hammond, Dick Jahns, MGFY M0l'90 ef Miller, BUFYY Smith, and Kay Stroker. Our busy class also created a homecoming float with the theme, De-Feet 'Em . As the yearbook went to press, we were planning to elect class officers in February, the concession at the Senior-Faculty Basketball game, plan our class party, and finally lGaspl in May elect our officers and student council representatives for next year.
