Chicago, Illinois i957 Our: we-Go 'High Learning how to give of one's ability for a good cause and to draw benefits from the labors of others should be a fundamental obiective of every high school student. The yearbook is the biggest and most difficult single extra-curricular proiect in the high school program. It calls for talent, ingenuity, persistence, leadership, and cooperation. The preparation of yearbook materials gives the participants the best kind of opportunity to exercise the ability to work together--to learn that most of life's affairs require cooperative effort. 2 .94 munching On ,. 1 3 ., A W, M !-WW , 1-1 1 f s j V S For the purpose of the modern comprehensive high school is to prepare teenagers for life as responsible people who havela common task to do--to keep the community the state, and the nation aware of the processes of democracy. Working together in the classroom and in extra-curricular activities gives each a chance to avail him- self of the faculties of others and likewise gives each a chance to contribute some- thing that will be of benefit to the group. --S.D.
