SLICES OF OUR LIVES You dial. Vou order. Vou ujoit and uuoit and uuQit. Finally it arrives; the dinner you ' d rather eat than the one served tonight at the cof . Vou open the boi ond there it is; a circle of baked dough uuith tomato sauce and cheese and various other toppings (if you ' re in the mood) uuai- tlng for you to sink your teeth into. Vou inhale the uuhole thing, feel ulti- mately satisfied, and forever fat. Vou have just experienced TH€ PlZZfl SVNDROM€. €very student at least once in their college daze has experienced this syndrome. €ven if you hote pizzo or never tried it before college, the groddy food at the caf forces you to join your fel- louu upperclassmen in experiencing the delicious deli- cacy of the perfect pizza. Granted, pizza is no substitute for mom ' s home cooking, but it does outshine the cafeteria food most of the time. Rnd, if you think about it, a person ' s life is similar to o pizza pie. 6ach of us is mode up of slices of unique qualities. Did you ever notice that no toio pizzas ore ever the some? And, that each slice of a pizza has a different amount of sauce, cheese, and topping? UUe, OS students, are no differ- ent. Rll of us belong to various groups, hove our ouun opinions, and approach life in mony luoys. €very aspect of our life serves to moke up our uuhole person, and luithout one port, oie ujould not be complete, just OS a pizza is not a ujhole pie if a slice is missing. Fill of us do share something in common though. UUe belong to LUest Chester University of Pennsylvania. Our life here is mode up of slices ' ' each uuith unique characteristics. The intent of the ' 86 Serpentine is to point out some of these slices that fill up our lives. Rnd, let ' s face it, most of the time those slices ore pretty good. by Judy M. Boiuen
