DORMS WAYNE Wayne Hall was the first West Chester dorm to become co-ed by room, a living arrangement that provides a wonderful opportunity for men and women to become friends casually and naturally. One important result is a sense of real closeness in Wayne: one can turn to almost anyone on the hall for help and guidance. ntnu mi i -i nil li iirl II - » »mi t Bl • mi ' ill a 19 ffil!!!Siiii L, ... m ri Ami III I 1 2.. ■ i ill IDI H i ' » 1 m III ' «■! Get a cart, Hold that elevator, Oh, I forgot my T.V. These were familiar sounds that echoed throughout each resident ' s hall on moving-in day. Scared freshmen, confused sophomores, confident juniors, and experienced seniors arrived with the usual hassles: crowded elevators, no parking places, and the wrong colored accessories for their rooms. Parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters. aunts, and uncles congregated in every room, hoping to lend that helping hand. Residents brought everything from their favorite plants to Mom ' s toaster oven to help give their room that special home-like atmosphere. Hours later, the resident ' s room, a pile of boxes and bags, is now ready to be transformed into a habitat which will serve as home for the next nine months. Killinger is the only male dorm remaining on the West Chester campus, and perhaps for that reason, sometimes seems to be more like a club or fraternity than a typical men ' s residence hall. There is certainly a sense of camaraderie among its occupants, as well as an identification with the place itself. It is. after all, unique. top: Killinger Hall, the only all male dorm bottom left: A creative sleeping arrangement in Killinger bottom right: A Killinger resident finds his own way to enjoy a peaceful after- noon. 25
